The first portion of my adventure will be hosted by the Alberta Tourist Board. My first stop will be in Banff National Park in the majestic Canadian Rockies. I will be staying at the Banff International Hotel. From here I shall explore Mount Rundle, Cascade Mountain, Mount Norquay, Sulphur Mountain ( by going up the Banff Gondola) and seeing Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain and the Hoodoo viewpoint, then the Historic town of Banff, itself.
There will be exploring Lake Minnewanka on a Lake Cruiser, hosted by a First Nations guide. We are stopping for late afternoon tea at a UNESCO World Heritage site, The Fairmont Banff Springs, which is the majestic “Castle in the Rockies”.
The next stop for me will be Lake Louise and a quick visit to the Fairmont Chateau. Afterwards I am off to take in the Icefields Parkway. Will be travelling in a massive Brewster Ice Explorer, operated by Brewster Travel Canada designed for glacier travel, over the surface of Athabaska glacier. I can not wait to get out and walk around on its ancient surface. We will view Crowfoot Glacier, PeytoLake and Big Hill as well. Travel will continue through SunwaptaValley and to AthabaskaFalls before we head towards our destination of Jasper, where we will be spending the evening at Chateau Jasper. Dinner will be in the Silverwater Grille at the Chateau and should be amazing. While in this area the explorations will continue with discovering MedicineLake and MaligneCanyon, which is a narrow limestone gorge.
I will then be travelling on “The Canadian”, a VIA rail sleeper train, which shall bring me along the North Thompson River, through British Colombia’s Interior Plateau, along the Fraser Canyon, past Hell’s Gate and into the Coastal Mountain range until my end destination of Vancouver.
While there I shall be exploring: Granville Island, Capilano Suspension Bridge and the BC Rainforest. I will be staying the night at the Hotel Vancouver and enjoying an evening by taking a Dinner Cruise, featuring BC Salmon and Alberta Prime Beef, that will take me through Stanley Park and under the Lions Gate Bridge and then to English Bay and False Creek.
My home while in Vancouver will be the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in a Deluxe room 623
