In a few short days, I am going to be starting my April Travel Adventure. I will be heading to the Costa Del Sol region of Spain with some wonderful friends and experiencing some of the hospitality that is offered by one of my Travel Partners, Exotik/Boomerang Tours. This Southern Region of Spain has an amazing 320 days a year of sun shine every year so chances are, we will have great weather when we are there. This region has the highest concentration of Golf Courses in all of Europe.
We shall be departing Toronto on April 13 for our over night flight with Air France and be arriving at the MalagaAirport, after a brief transfer in France. It will be my first time on an Air France flight and I am looking forward to experiencing their service and procedures. The last time I went to Europe, it was with Air Italia and I simply loved the flight.
Our host resort is the Sunset Beach Club and from here we will be visiting and doing site inspections, spread out over our stay, of 8 others in the area. We will start with the Torremolinos hotel chain: Aloha Puerto, Sol Principe, Don Hoteles and Melia Costa Del Sol. These are all located in the Malaga area, which has many monuments and traditional Spanish restaurants. It has the most beautiful and popular beaches along the entire coast.
Melia Banus and Melia Don Pepe resorts are located in the prestigious Marabella area. This entire region was founded by the Phoenicians and has Moorish influence. There are also many World War II tunnels to explore in the area. From here, the plan is to visit Gibraltar, which will definitely be a highlight for me.
In the town of Fuengirola, we will visit Diamond Resort Nuriasol and Pyr Aparthotels as well as exploring the famous local markets before we leave to explore the town of Mijas. Being able to explore so many towns and resorts, will give me a very good understanding of their specific location in the tourist district, the distance from the airport, what each resort has to offer and what off site activities would be available for people who love to explore, like I do.
Since we shall be in the area anyway, I am going to take a quick side trip to Morocco, North West Africa. This will be my second time stepping onto that continent as I was in Tunesia last year. I am so excited to be able to see the mosques and souks in the area.
Rounding the trip off, will be an extended stay in Paris, France. I will be staying in the Latin Quarter, very close to the Louvre and the city center.
I plan on coming home with stories, memories and thousands of pictures; most of which I plan on sharing. Stay tuned for updates in the first 2 weeks of May.
